Hi, I'm Lyle.

For over 20 years, playing the piano has been my passion. I’m classically trained, and have had the privilege of performing nationwide in a variety of solo concerts, as a band member at venues such as Disneyland and the House of Blues Sunset Strip, and with orchestras such as the Orange County Symphony and the Santa Clarita Philharmonic. I've also played at several weddings and many other events.

Are you planning an event, or are you interested in having live piano music at your venue? Let's talk... I'm delighted to offer professional piano services for any occasion!

Since I began teaching piano in 2007, I’ve been passionate about helping my students successfully cultivate a love for their instrument. I teach from my home studio in Santa Clarita, CA, though in-home lessons may be available upon special request. As an instructor, I focus on imparting an understanding of music theory, developing performance techniques, and guiding students as they explore their individual creativity. Though I emphasize classical music training, I also utilize other methods and supplemental materials to complement all styles, ages, and skill levels. As a member of the Music Teachers National Association, my students also have access to numerous performance opportunities, competitions, and evaluations.

Whether it's piano lessons for you or your child, allow me to provide direction along the path to becoming a better musician.

Music is a wonderful means to communicate, connect, and convince. Everyone is moved and inspired by music. Crafting new melodies is perhaps what thrills me most, whether it's sketching a viola harmony in a symphony or writing a vocal melody. I've composed and arranged for various forms of media, live performances, and an assortment of other projects such as studio recordings and commissions. I've had the pleasure of writing for orchestra, choir, and solo instruments in a variety of styles, and I’m enthusiastic about using new music to reach people in a unique and personal way.

New music.

My story.

Born in Maine, I started playing the piano at the early age of five, and honed my craft under the tutelage of Dr. Daniel Weiser at Dartmouth College after moving to New Hampshire. In 2009, I released my debut solo piano album, Tranquility. Escaping the brutally cold New England winters, I relocated to the sunny Los Angeles area to attend college. I graduated cum laude from The Master’s University in 2014, with a degree in Music Composition. While there, I was blessed to study piano with Prof. Lauren Shackelford and composition with Dr. Joel Scott Davis and Prof. Sarah Wallin-Huff.

I also enjoy ensemble singing and have had the honor of touring various regions in Europe, Israel, and the USA as a member of The Master’s Chorale. I even had the incredible opportunity to sing in a backup choir with Josh Groban for his PBS special, Stages Live, at the breathtaking Los Angeles Theatre. My other hobbies include graphic design, interior design, listening to and expanding my vinyl record collection, jamming with various bands, and spending time with friends and family.
